Warehouse Case Study

In 2012 Automotive manufacturer Honda extended their Manila facility by 75%. Subsequently Honda Philippines needed 420 high bay lights for use across their 10m high warehouse ceiling. Facing aggressively increasing energy costs the management team looked for a more energy efficient option than the current 475 watt high bay metal-halide lights.

Approaching Power Efficiencies an audit of the newly developed area was quickly completed to identify the level of brightness required (specifically floor level lux) and the appropriate lighting colour. From this a minimum floor level lux of 180 was required and a 4500k natural white colour specified. To meet this need 420 new 150 watt high bay LED lights were used at a height of 9 meters.

The end result was a 68.4% saving in lighting electricity consumption in their existing warehouse area.  Additionally with the LED high bay lights having a 50,000 hour life expectancy less maintenance work is forecast. As to is replacement lighting units.
